The Mendez Law Group is a family-owned law firm that is available to serve the people of our community with legal assistance. Our team has over 20+ years of experience specializing in family law, immigration law, estate planning, probate and criminal law.     Gavino Mendez | Attorney

    Areas of Expertise: Family Law

    Gavino is a native Austinite who grew up on the East-side of Austin, Texas. He founded the Law Office of Gavino Mendez in May 2003 with the objective of providing affordable legal services to individuals with limited resources but with a need for legal representation in family law matters.
He is fluent in Spanish which allows him to provide legal services to the Latin community.

    Gavino’s primary focus is assisting families in reach amicable resolutions to family issues including, but not limited to: divorce, custody determinations, child support, adoptions, child protective services cases, and possession access to children - always keeping the children’s best interest as the overriding factor.

    Chris Mendez | Attorney

    Areas of Expertise: Immigration, Personal Injury

    A Native Austinite and military Veteran, Chris serves his country and his community. Chris specialized in immigration law in helping those in need regarding immigration issues. He possesses his Federal License in the Western District of Texas to assist those who require additional legal support. Chris continues to maintain his knowledge in public policy and affairs

    Chris graduated from the University of Texas at Austin from the LBJ school with his Master’s in Public Affairs. He seeks to sharpen his immigration policy skills by following the most updated immigration policies to assist those worldwide.

    Bryan Mendez | Attorney

    Bryan is an experienced estate planning and probate attorney with upwards of 10+ years of experience in the field. He received his law degree from a top-tier law school and has been licensed to practice in Texas for almost a decade. During his career, he has helped numerous individuals and families with their probate and estate planning needs, providing customized solutions that fit their unique circumstances.


    He has handled a variety of probate cases, from simple to complex, in those situations where probate was necessary due to the lack of an estate plan, or otherwise.

    Richard York | Attorney

    Areas of Expertise: Family Law

    Richard is an experienced attorney specializing in family law. A graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Law, Richard gained valuable experience at LegalZoom in Austin, Texas, where he helped refine best practices for forming, maintaining, and dissolving LLCs, stock corporations, and nonprofit organizations. His background in both business law and divorce litigation allows him to offer well-rounded, effective legal representation for clients.

    Outside of his legal practice, Richard volunteers bi-weekly at Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas, assisting those in need. He enjoys spending time with his wife and son, balancing his professional and personal life with care and compassion.

    Jennifer (Jen) Mendez | Paralegal

    Jen keeps office operations running seamlessly, bringing warmth, professionalism, and dedication every single day.

    Rosemary Meza | Paralegal

    Rosemary handles all front desk, administrative work and is also the driving force behind our smooth operations.

    She manages scheduling and calendaring, invoicing, bookkeeping, and everything in between. Rosemary also handles critical tasks like preparing documents, coordinating with clients and keeps cases on track.

    Ileene Garcia | Intern

    During her internship at The Mendez Law Group, Ileene assists with client intake, case preparation, and legal research, gaining valuable insight into the legal process while deepening her passion for advocacy and justice. Her long-term goal is to attend law school and become a practicing attorney in family and criminal law.
